Dear Students and Parents,

                      Welcome to the 2012-2013 school year at Saraland Elementary School. I am honored to serve this community as your Saraland Elementary School principal. During the summer, the faculty, staff, and I have worked diligently to prepare for the upcoming school year. The goal of the faculty and staff is to provide a creative and structured learning environment that meets the needs of all the students at Saraland Elementary School.

                     Saraland Elementary is composed of an excellent  staff that consists of highly qualified teachers and trained support personnel that is committed to meeting the educational needs of the students of this community. The curriculum of Saraland Elementary is comprised of researched-based instructional strategies and technology enriched activities to enable your child to reach his or her full potential. The faculty will provide a positive and motivating learning environment that will appeal to all types of learners.

                     Parental involvement is very important for a successful school year. As parents, please encourage your students to do his or her best each day at school, as well as, convey to the students how important his or her education is to them. We, the faculty at Saraland Elementary School, want the parents to know, as well as students, that we will all work as a team to achieve ultimate success throughout the year. Parents are encouraged to become involved in activities and events at Saraland Elementary. My office door is always opened for parents if there are any comments or concerns that need to be brought to my attention. Parents, faculty, and students working together will ensure success at Saraland Elementary.

                    The handbook will serve as a guide for parents and students that will provide important information about our operational procedures and policies at Saraland Elementary. We hope it will serve as a useful guide to assist you for a successful year. Please take the time to read the handbook carefully.

                    In closing, Saraland Elementary is dedicated to providing a quality education to the children of this community. I look forward to working with you and leading my faculty to meet the needs of your children. I will devote my time to ensure that Saraland Elementary will remain an excellent school that emphasizes a quality education for all students.
