We will celebrate Red Ribbon Week 10/23-27 to raise awareness of the dangers of drugs and alcohol. Please participate in our voluntary poster contest by having your child create a poster that illustrates the negative impact of drugs/alcohol. Every child that participates will receive a small prize. The top winners for each grade level will be displayed on the website and yearbook and will receive a larger prize. All posters will be displayed in the hallway so please make sure your poster is appropriate for younger children to view. All posters must have your child’s name and teacher written on the back. Please turn your poster in on 10/18. Posters turned in after this date will not be included in the judging.

We will also have dress up days as follows:

Monday, 10/23

Today’s slogan-“Say NO to Drugs!” Students will be given a say no to drugs ribbon.

Tuesday, 10/24

Today’s slogan-“Sock it to Drugs!” Students can wear crazy socks today.

Wednesday, 10/25

Today’s slogan-“My Future is Too Bright for Drugs!” Students can wear sunglasses.

Thursday, 10/26

Today’s slogan-“Team up Against Drugs.” Students can wear a team jersey shirt today.

Friday, 10/27

Today’s slogan-“Spartans are Drug Free.” Students can wear spirit attire today.

Please use this very important opportunity to discuss the negative consequences of drugs with your children and encourage a healthy drug-free lifestyle. Studies show that parents who discuss drugs with their children at an early age are more likely to have children who “Say No” to drugs later in life.
